Chiyogami - decorative patterns silkscreened on paper made of kozo and sulfite
Chiyogami designs were developed centuries ago by Japanese papermakers as woodblock prints, based on the decorative patterns on kimono fabrics. Small studios in Japan still produce these papers, adding new patterns but holding to the traditional methods of hand silkscreening.
This luminous paper is a delight to the hand as well as the eye. It is strong, yet lightweight and flexible, folds easily and glues down well.
